- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆My fiance went in here today to pick up a package that had arrived internationally. He had called this morning and a woman replied saying that the package was there. He went to pick it up and waited in line for 30 minutes. Upon arriving at the front, he told the woman that he was there to "pick up an order" to which the woman sarcastically replied, "this is a package, not an order. We aren't McDonalds" loud enough for the whole post office to hear. She was also difficult when it came to finding the package. He told her his name and address and she still said "We might have trouble finding it." What else do they need besides name and address? Because the package was international, he wasn't given a tracking number. He was severely disrespected even though he had called in that morning saying he was coming to get it.By Virginia Malloy, November 18, 2016
- ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆We have had excellent service over the past 2 decades. The patience required of this understaffed office has been impressive. It has a high number of international students arriving with many diverse needs and questions, and I've been impressed by the time taken by the staff to handle the language barriers and cultural misconceptions. (For example, the assumption that one can just walk in front of everyone in line and demand quick service and immediate correction to one's own mistakes.) I've never noticed rudeness on the part of employees, but I have noticed regular rudeness on the part of some demanding clients. Waiting in line is a result of the time being spent with customers, and the decreasing funding of our postal service. So--bring a book and a dose of courtesy.
